We had 86 riders who qualified and only 22 riders and families had purchased tickets with a further 5 riders showing interest. 34 Riders & Familes said they didn't want to come. With only 25 riders waiting to respond and we have chased them so much for a response. This totalled 47 Adults 22 Qualifying riders and 8 Children tickets sold with a further 5 riders showing interest. The hotel stipulated 150 people as a minmum for the venue. With deposit required for the venue, food, disco etc we had no alternative but to cancel.

We have been given had many reasons for not coming from the expense to riders riding at Skegness Beach Race to 'can't see the point!' but notice today will at least allow you to make alternative arangemnets and those who want to do the Skegness event to enter today at a cheaper rate.

Our hearts go out to those that worked so hard throughout the year for their championship position only for others to force the cancellation. We know you were so looking foward to the presentation, especially our club champions, but to allow this event to go ahead with so low numbers and at huge cost to families would not be fair to you.

For those that have booked hotel rooms then please ensure you contact the hotel to cancel your rooms as they would not allow us to cancel them for you. Those who have paid then will give full refunds.

It cannot be expected that the commitee carry the trophies in vans & campers just in case we bump into you so please email the club suggesting where the trophies can be taken over the winter. For those who booked tickets for the presentation there will be no charge for postage for those who didn't we will need a request for trophies to be sent out and payment of postage before any action is taken.
